FTHOI

We are an annual event put on at Dalhousie University to raise funds for various Charities. FTHOI has been up and running for over 30 years and includes 8 of Dalhousie's Health Professions:

Dentistry

Physiotherapy

Medicine

Occupational Therapy

Health Sciences

Pharmacy

Nursing

Human Communication Disorders

The Event

We provide a night of comedic relief through educational, interprofessional, competitive skits. Each faculty fund raises and competes  for the top spot. All proceeds from this event go to a selected charity!

The event is held every November at the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium, Dalhousie Arts Centre.

Ways in which you can support this event is to come to the event (this year it is Nov. 29th, 2014), donate to a school of your choice in the " donate today" section, and go to fundraising events held by 1 or all 8 of the Health professions!

REGIONAL RESIDENTIAL SERVICES SOCIETY

This year the annual fundraiser has chosen to dedicate its proceeds to Regional Residential Services Society (RRSS), a community based non-profit organization, supporting adults with intellectual disabilities in the Halifax-Dartmouth, Bedford-Sackville area since 1979.

The mission of RRSS is to “offer residential choices that support the individual dreams and goals of adults with intellectual disabilities.”

RRSS’s services and supports are delivered in our community to approximately 180 men and women in 56 distinct living arrangements that include group homes, small options, supported apartments, individualized supports and respite support to families. The operations of RRSS are funded solely by the Department of Community Services through per diems. RRSS is dedicated to empowering individuals, enhancing lifestyles and strengthening community capacity to facilitate social inclusion for our citizens with disabilities.

The inclusion of persons with disabilities requires a commitment to overall health and wellness. Regional Residential Services Society will dedicate your contributions to expanding opportunities for the individuals they support to remain active and engaged citizens in their communities through enabling access to participation in a broad range of activities and events.
